Conclusions

STIs continue to be an important issue among people with HIV infection in Australia, disproportionately affecting the MSM population. Comprehensive HIV management should include regular STI testing for all sexually-active people with HIV infection, tailored to their reported risk behaviours. Clinicians need to be aware of key differences in the epidemiology, clinical presentation and management of a number of these STIs.
