Introduction

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is an important infection in people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection because of the influence of HIV on the natural history of HBV infection. Antiviral therapies with activity against both viruses have enabled targeted therapy in people with co-infection without an increase in pill burden.
